The BoxingArts Composite Scorecard for the first Anthony Joshua / Oleksandr Usyk fight has Oleksandr Usyk beating Anthony Joshua 116 to 112. The Official Unified Sanctioning Bodies Scorecard has Usyk beating Anthony in a unanimous decision, though all three judges' scorecards differed, so it's not that simple. Judge Howard Foster scored the fight 115 / 113 for Usyk. Judge Steve Weisfeld scored the fight 116 / 112 for Usyk, and Judge Viktor Fesechenko scored the fight 117 / 112 for Usyk. Judge Howard Foster had one outlier round. He scored round four 10 / 9 for Fury. The BoxingArts Composite Scorecard eliminates outlier round scores, based on the assumption that the two judges who are in agreement scored the round correctly, while the judge who scored it differently got it wrong, so BoxingArts scored that round 10 / 9 for Usyk. Judge Viktor Fesechenko had three outlier rounds, (rounds 2, 4 & 8). BoxingArts scored those rounds the same way the other two judges had it. Judge Steve Weisfeld had no outlier rounds. His scores matched at least one of the other two judges' scores in every round. He scored the fight 116 / 112 for Usyk. It matches the BoxingArts Composite Scorecard. That is the correct scorecard. The BoxingArts Composite Scorecard is the only truly reliable method of determining the outcome of a fight. For reference, the Official Unified Sanctioning Bodies Scorecard is shown further down. The outlier rounds are bracketed. Judge Steve Weisfeld, with no outlier rounds, gets a rating of 10.0 for this fight. Judge Howard Foster gets a rating of 9.0, and Judge Viktor Fesechenko gets a rating of 7.0.
This is the Official Unified Sanctioning Bodies Scorecard for the first Anthony Joshua / Oleksandr Usyk fight. The outlier rounds are bracketed.
BoxingArts does not score fights independently of the official judges. It relies upon the official judges’ experience, qualifications, and ringside presence to determine who won each round and ultimately who won the fight. The BoxingArts Composite Scorecard is the only truly reliable method of determining the outcome of a fight.
